So with the students coming in, let's say year to year, what do you think they imagine the professional practice will be like? And then what do you think surprises them once they kind of get started with their placements?

So they see that it's a practicum and we try and set it up as much like a job experience as possible.

And that's been some different iterations over the years.

And you've experienced some of them as a community partner, which we appreciate feedback all the time.

And we've kind of tried to make it as realistic as possible.

So interview, you're provided an offer, you need to respond, or sometimes you don't hear back from anyone at all.

Students are surprised at the fact that it is actually competitive, that they are competing against each other, that they have to actually perform in a professional interview space because in their mind, the practicum is a guarantee of their program.
