Amy WalkerGUEST
She's kind of led global business development for the likes of Thermo and others in the space.

Amy WalkerGUEST
And actually in her former company, which was a company called Trilink, they were one of the first CDMOs to test our product back in the day.

Amy WalkerGUEST
So they actually had like a physical testing and evaluation, successful testing and evaluation of our technology.

Amy WalkerGUEST
So we were able to attract her and some of that other team on the basis that we had already proven that technology works very well.

Sharon CoxHOST
What's getting you all excited about the next five years? What can we look forward to?

Jim CornallHOST
Related to the products that you sell, what are some of the challenges or limitations in the field right now?

Amy WalkerGUEST
Corby's Bio manufactures DNA, but we manufacture it incredibly uniquely in that we use enzymes.

Amy WalkerGUEST
And essentially, the objective there is to displace an incumbent technology, which is a technology called plasma DNA.

Amy WalkerGUEST
Plasma DNA is derived from bacterial fermentation, so it's grown in bugs, in E. coli.

Amy WalkerGUEST
And as such, there are a lot of limitations associated with that manufacturing process.

Jim CornallHOST
Could you maybe go into a bit more detail on synthetic DNA amplification technology?

I'd now like to hand you over to Amy Walker, CEO.

Amy WalkerGUEST
So I'd like to start off today with ForBaseBio's mission statement, and that's really through our enzymatically produced DNA, we enable clinical and commercial biomanufacturing for advanced therapeutics, empowering safer, faster, more cost-effective treatments to improve outcomes for patients worldwide.

Amy WalkerGUEST
I'd also like to take the opportunity to introduce the new leadership team here at 4BaseBio.

Amy WalkerGUEST
I'm the Chief Executive Officer and I was appointed as CEO in February of this year, formerly serving as Chief Operating Officer.

Stephen GunnionHOST
For investors who don't know 4BaseBio yet, what problem does synthetic DNA solve that plasma DNA can't? And why is that shift gaining momentum now?

Amy WalkerGUEST
And the way that we make DNA is fairly unique because instead of using conventional fermentation that is typical of plasmid production, we actually use enzymes to amplify our DNA.

Amy WalkerGUEST
safer, cost-effective, and faster type of DNA that we can deliver to our partners, be that biopharma, be that biotech companies, or be that some of our CDMO partners.

Amy WalkerGUEST
I think with respect to where we can feed that DNA into, really DNA is used as a building block in all of cell and gene therapy and more broadly in vaccine applications and gene editing applications.

Stephen GunnionHOST
How do these fit into the commercial growth strategy you're driving forward, Amy?
