... and then talk of ceasefire, negotiations, do you see that kind of, that cycle continuing then?
17:14
Well, yes.
17:14
Right? And I think if you, if you put yourself in Trump's shoes, he's been really effective at manipulating the markets.
17:21
Right? Whenever the market closes up to $100, he goes out and says something, and the market drops.
17:27
And this creates, you know, for him it creates an incentive to keep doing it again.
17:30
And also, if you're a trader, there's a high, you, you really have a high risk taking a long position after $90, 'cause suddenly Trump will say something, and you'll lose a lot of money.
17:40
Right? So it also changes the behavior of the market over time when he does that.

It's quite interesting how that's kind of, um, flipped, if you like.
4:47
I mean, is that a model the UK could borrow, or is it a Norwegian exception built on institutions that the UK does not have?
4:53
The UK has the same institutions, and the same argument's available to the UK.
4:58
I, I think what's been the key for the Norwegian debate has been this, do we solve this climate issues, do we solve them on the supply side by changing the way we produce energy, or do we change them on the demand side by alternating or, or augmenting the way we use the energy and burn the energy? And for Norway, that's allowed at least the politicians to be able to say, "We are at the forefront of solving climate change, but we're also producing oil and gas." And then we change the way we emit or generate emissions by rolling out new electric vehicles, by changing the way industry uses energy, and doing carbon capture and storage or carbon sequestration.
5:36
So I think that's certainly available to the UK.
5:39
In this oil market we see now, I don't think the global emission footprint of these types of projects in the UK, I think is manageable.
5:46
But I do think it's important to increase security of supply in Europe now and going into the future.
5:51
I, I think sort of if you look at the domestic European resources on the UK side and on the Norwegian continental shelf, certainly the Norwegian one are looking at a pretty steep decline from mid-twenty thirties and onwards.

How has Norway handled that?
