Amber, what happens to our bodies, to us if we don't get enough B12?
4:23
Symptoms of vitamin B12 deficiency can be quite slow to develop.
4:29
Um, so without any dietary intake of vitamin B12, um, symptoms can take anywhere from one year to a few years to develop, though this isn't the same for everybody.
4:38
Um, some people might experience symptoms of deficiency earlier than this or later.
4:44
Um, but importantly, generally these symptoms are reversible when our B12 levels are corrected.
4:49
Um, for adults, signs of deficiency can include things like fatigue, lack of energy, blurred vision, pins and needles in, like, your hands and feet, uh, even infertility issues, and as well, neurological symptoms such as, uh, you can have changes to your walking pattern, poor memory, confusion.
5:11
And if the deficiency goes unchanged for quite a long time, it is possible for these symptoms to become irreversible.
