So speaking of that, like, what did you notice about the emotional and mental health needs of hospital patients that m- that helped you see that art felt like the right response?

Amber WangGUEST
So when I was volunteering at the long-term care center, I realized that, you know, hospitals will provide exceptional medical care, whether it's treatments or medicine, and doctors and nurses will do a really good job of m- maintaining the physical well-being of patients.

Amber WangGUEST
But I felt like as a volunteer, I could really play a role in the emotional aspect of those patients.

Amber WangGUEST
And like I said before, I felt like a lot of these patients were experiencing loneliness 'cause they were older and they didn't have a lot of, like, family visits often.

Amber WangGUEST
And as a volunteer, I wanted to, um, bring art to try and bring comfort to these hospital spaces, which I believe really helped with their mental health.

Amber WangGUEST
So I f- found that, like, them creating art made them have, like, a form of self-expression that wasn't really available through, like, medicine or treatment and allowed them to express their more creative side.
