How concerning is that for parents? And what should parents know and do to protect their kids?

Amber MacGUEST
Well, I think this is an example of a technology company that doesn't have guardrails in place to keep people safe.

Amber MacGUEST
Why are these chatbots being developed so they are constantly encouraging us to do things that aren't good for us, that could be unsafe.

Amber MacGUEST
Why are they telling young people who have suicidal thoughts to pursue those thoughts and not tell an adult in their lives? I mean, all of those things are real.

Amber MacGUEST
There's been dozens of cases along these lines, specifically around OpenAI's ChatGPT, where the company has really failed to put those safety measures in place.

I'm curious to know what is one thing, if you can narrow this down, that AI is doing right now or is about to do that just amazes you?

I am, uh, so fortunate to have had a chance to sit down with him for 90 minutes just a, a few weeks ago.

Amber MacGUEST
We sat down on stage and, and had a conversation about AI and where things are going.

Amber MacGUEST
But what I took away from that conversation is not so much that he and the other godfathers of AI have created something that is uncontrollable.

Amber MacGUEST
It's that we have the wrong people in charge of pulling the strings right now, and he was very vocal about that.

Amber MacGUEST
And what I mean is that, you know, there are a few tech leaders who are taking us down these paths where they don't have any accountability for what they're introducing, whether that's conversational chatbots, um, or other tools that, you know, potentially are wiping out our human experience.

So what do you think the deal is with that? And how, how do you think we diagnose that and how do you think we get past that? Because that's the big gap right now from pilot to commercialization.
