And so Amanda, yeah, I'd like to hear about a bit about your background and kind of with accessibility in Dartmouth.

Well, I actually grew up in London, but I was very fortunate that my school had a link with the Dartmoor Rescue Group and would get a place and 10 tours every year.

So I opted for that.
6:03
Absolutely loved it.

And then quite a long time later, managed to get myself a job down here.
6:09
then retrained as a teacher and ended up in a school where they were looking to broaden their outdoor programme.

So I took over managing the Tentours team, Duke of Edinburgh's expeditions, and was given the challenge of coming up with an outdoor education programme from the youngest children aged five right through to 18. um it was very much so but it was great fun and we would do things like um winter overnight stays with with the seven-year-olds um right up to as it turned out international expeditions with the oldest ones but that got me thinking about how much the children were getting out of it and particularly the ones that maybe struggled to be in the classroom completely transformed them being outdoors.
