protest there's also some protests at the and at the apple star there's something called the the shit phone yeah there's there's all kinds of like interventions and readings and there's a there's a conference i think at the new school um where talks were made so it's really the whole package so like why why are we put why are you why are you like writing about the luddites are adapting you know the luddite story and all the all this stuff like like right now like and all the you know the folks that you're working with and seeing on the ground as you're you know creating this documentary which if isn't it isn't clear i'm amanda is working and has been working on for years a documentary that began well i'll let you put it how did number one how did your documentary begin and then like how did that lead to the summer of lud and like what are these themes that that it's all about

Yeah, absolutely.

So the Luddite Club documentary started in earnest in 2023.

And it started at the high school that I went to, that I then taught at starting in 2021.

I got rid of my smartphone and social media before I started teaching because I saw how It was affecting my mood.

I felt addicted to it.

I felt just drained.

of the moment it feels like this is this this does feel like more people probably you know agree with the the luddites and the people on the soap boxes at the summer of ludd you know than they do in the you know startup offices of san francisco right now so what do you see you know like happening next where are you going to point your documentary uh camera lens next um i know you said this is the final act of your planning on it being but you know where you know where do Is there going to be another summer of Ludd, do you think, next year? Do you see these movements growing? What's happening now and what's happening next?
