Mm
34:11
... about where's our place in the world, and what's our relationship like with the US, which has been our closest partner, our closest trading partner.
34:19
I mean, my, my, you know, I live an hour from the border, and I think the majority of Canadians live within three hours of the border, cross over fairly regularly and feel really close, and it felt like not old home anymore.
34:34
And so, um, you know, the impact that that had on businesses were, what was gonna happen to the trading relations? You know, what, what, what's the impact of tariffs going to be? And if US companies, uh, for which they are, you know, Canadian companies are, are either needing them for value chain or part of their value chain, were changing the way they were gonna do business, uh, through the impact of executive orders, what was that gonna mean for them? And how much pressure was that gonna be, even though we are a fully sovereign country? And I think now a year later, that's really dissipated.
35:07
You know, there's still the economic pressure of some of the changes that are going on in the world, whether or not you can get things out of the Strait of Hormuz or whether or not that, you know, you're being impacted by tariffs in certain sectors and some of the volatility around that.
35:19
But I think what we're really seeing is, is Canadian companies really continuing to hold to their principles, really recognizing that for investors, um, that they know that being a sustainable, responsible, inclusive company is a better performing company and really moving forward in those ways.
35:37
And I think as, as you mentioned, I think sustainability, the w- the words associated with this work are, are, are hard always to define, but we, we really put it under the bigger piece of being responsible and includes those social impact things too.

8 MINS LATER

Mm.
1:17
For

information.
1:18
I know sometimes you didn't want it, their advice, but I didn't.
1:23
But I wish I'd taken it more often because the people that you know and that network that you build over time will help you in so many different ways that you can't even imagine, even if it's not directly in your field.
1:36
And so, you know, start with if you're timid about networking.
1:40
Start with people you know.
1:42
Ask them how they built their careers.
3:17
And someone you meet may not have an opportunity today to They might have one in a year, six months, maybe longer, but they might remember you from the conversation and interaction that you had because you had the courage to get out.
