Could you just share like a little bit about yourself, how you got into like the legal space?

Yeah, so I've been working as a legal assistant for eight years now.

I started my schooling at KPU.

I didn't know what I wanted to do for school, but I saw this eight-month program at KPU offering the legal studies program.

I was like, okay, eight months, this is something good to get my feet wet into without going into a long-term program.

yeah i completed the program i liked it and then i got into practice right away as a legal assistant i started off doing a personal injury for two years start off there then i did three months of corporate law then i went back to doing personal injury just on icbc defense work so i did that for a couple years then i was at the city of burnaby i was in the human resources department there and i was doing administrative law in bc labor and yeah so now I'm back I'm doing a civil litigation now and insurance law so this is kind of I keep going back and forth to litigation but I feel like civil litigation is like my strongest point and my go-to I really like it so I currently work as a legal assistant and I just became I just completed my program at Capilano recently for my paralegal program

Why do you think like people avoid like contracts or getting like any legal support? Do you think it's mainly just cost or just not knowing what you don't know?

i think it's both i think it's not knowing what you don't know and it's also the cost like the re one of the reasons why i start up my business is because i found that there was a gap no lawyers are very expensive here in bc and it's not just bc i think it's a worldwide issue like lawyers legal advice is really expensive yeah and so when i started my contract business Um, I can't, so I can't give legal advice, uh, doing my business.
