Um, tell us like, how did, how did that go? What did, what did that lead to for you?

Allison MaslanGUEST
Like I said, we brought on these amazing companies like Ben & Jerry's and so forth.

Allison MaslanGUEST
So I was in the trenches really learning about business and marketing and we were having great success.

Allison MaslanGUEST
You know, Charlotte Roos, the clothing chain at the time from like 15 to 50 stores, they ended up selling at like 250 stores.

Can you talk us through it and tell us which of those five phases business owners most often skip or get wrong or all of them, you know?

Allison MaslanGUEST
Yeah, so there's five phases that business owners go through, and then there's five pillars within each of those phases.

Allison MaslanGUEST
So what I'll do is I'll walk you through the five phases first, because then your listeners can go, okay, I'm in phase two or I'm in phase three.

Allison MaslanGUEST
And I think the biggest aha here is the awareness, because most people have no idea where they are in the scaling process.

The thought that came to me, and I'll never forget it, was, do you want to be in the same place you are right now a year from now, or even 10 years from now? And that just scared the heck out of me.

So what is unique about the way that you coach people to breaking that seven figures?

Allison MaslanGUEST
So when you go to medical school, you know, for many people, it's about making a difference in people's lives.

Allison MaslanGUEST
And so... you have to really look at, does it matter if it's you performing the service or can somebody else be performing the service? And it doesn't mean we're going to take you out of seeing patients altogether.

Allison MaslanGUEST
In the beginning, it was me and I was working with clients one-on-one, And doing great work and loving it.

Allison MaslanGUEST
Well, I was definitely a mess, that's for sure, or that wouldn't have happened.

Allison MaslanGUEST
So that was my first company many years ago, and I started out doing more graphic design and things, and then people just started asking me, "Do you do brochures?" And then it was, "Do you do radio? Do you do television? Do you..." You know.

Allison MaslanGUEST
And I had grown up in a very entrepreneurial family, and my father used to tell me, "If someone asks you to do something, even if you don't know how to do it but you think it's worthwhile, just say yes and then figure it out." So that's really how I built that agency, which was great, and I had amazing clients like Ben & Jerry's, and Supercuts, and Charlotte Russe.

Allison MaslanGUEST
And I was learning all along the way, and it was growing really fast, which was great externally, but internally, I had no idea how to scale a business.
