What is it about those guys that you really like and the team at Rivals likes?

Yeah, I actually think there's maybe kind of different qualities about those guys.

I mean, Kellen is this more lean.

I had a chance to see him in person at Michigan State's campus when he was just starting to pick up some offers.

And the frame was very obvious then, but then the way he moves around, I mean, such a good athlete.

at that size which i think is is really important so he's not a guy you know at six five probably 270 275 right now he's good size but he's not going to walk into a room and just stand out from the pack as far as offensive lineman goes but i think the way he moves when you put the film on and when you see him in person uh he's very very athletic i think he's he's improved as far as his technique and his strength goes um and i think he's a guy who can play more than one position on the line.

So I think he gives you a lot of versatility.

How often do you deal with, you know, the schools that seem to have some momentum in recruiting and then are or aren't able to, you know, cash in on it when they get to the football field in the fall? And does it feel like Nebraska is at this sort of, I don't know, inflection point right now?

I think what happens is if you have a really good class and you don't have a great season, you run the risk of other schools coming in and trying to poach your class.

That being said, I think there's this idea that if we don't win enough games, the whole class is just going to fall apart.

In my experience, that's not really the case.

You may lose a couple of your best pieces, because those are the guys, when schools go through your list and say, who are we going to poach, they're going to try to go for the top guys first.

In my experience, the whole class doesn't fall apart, but you may get a couple of key pieces poached.

But I also think a lot of those kids who commit to school, and the kids know the situation.

How has that whole picture kind of come together with Pat Fitzgerald, a longtime successful coach at Northwestern? uh doing recruiting wise at michigan state now

Okay.

You know, they don't wanna do them.

A lot of the seniors are unofficials, and they're, they're committing.

Um, the, the...

Even the juniors have a lot of offers and options.

They just had a spring where a lot of schools come to them for workout days.

So getting kids to come to one-day camp, and this is...

Do you find them valuable, and personally, how do you use them to help yourself? Allan, go first.

I do find them valuable.

Um, how do, they, I think it depe- definitely depends on the mic and then how you approach each open mic based on what you know it's going to be.

There are some open mics that I know, like, there's, there's nothing that I can do here to where the set's probably gonna be well received.

[laughs] So it's just about getting stuff out there, s- getting new things out of my mouth, and getting practice in just saying those things.

... of like getting comfortable with the same set.

And even the same way you tell those jokes over and over again.
