The Benachie colony was formed of the kind of the poorest of society that squatted on this piece of land, for better words, that they were able to not pay rent.

They could build cottages, eke out a living maybe doing some dyking, working as shepherds, growing their own food.

And we've recreated here as well a, a kailyard using traditional methods of cultivation and fertilization.
