And it was based on what we learned and what we kind of knew through our own work anyway, that the barriers to reporting are, number one, right at the top, is that more than 70% of people who've been harmed can't necessarily name themselves.

Ali MauGUEST
But the one thing I tried to do with all my journalistic reporting was not go into the gory details of the abuse because it's not necessary.

Okay, TICA is what is known as an alternative reporting option for people who've experienced sexual harm of any kind.
A

That's online harm, childhood abuse, assault or harassment in the workplace or in other community areas.

And so at the moment, people generally report along to police or the Human Rights Commission if it's harassment or various other pathways.
A
3:20Alison MauGUEST
But only a very, very few people do that, like only around 10% of sexual harm is ever reported to any official pathway.
A

And we know that that's because people experience things like shame and self-blame, unwarranted, of course, fear of not being believed.

Now, it seems to me that the value of what you're doing here is that your service connects dots, as in connects people who may have had offending from the same person when those connections may otherwise never have been made.

Ali MauGUEST
So we have built a completely secure enterprise-grade platform that has a customer journey that you onboard, you get immediate lawyer-client privilege at registration.

Ali MauGUEST
So At the very first thing you do on our platform, you are protected by lawyer-client privilege for all the rest of the information flow that you give us.

Ali MauGUEST
You tell us a little bit about yourself, about what happened to you, and importantly, as much as you know about the perpetrator.

Ali MauGUEST
And then when you press submit, the report goes into our large language model, which is completely sealed and does not reach out to ChatGPT or any other you know, generative AI.

Um, so you probably haven't realized this as you've gone along, but what you've done unknowingly at first, I guess, is carved a little niche for yourself in the wider media that a lot of people would do very well to emulate.
