I would like to share my story with your learners because it's a really important story and it's really important information for everybody to know.

My daughter, Emily, was 19 years old.

She was a college sophomore at a small liberal arts college in Michigan when she called home with a headache one night.

I'll have you know that she was completely healthy and up to date on all the vaccines that I knew about at that time.

She had a headache, and she was a little achy, and I thought perhaps she was coming down with the flu.
