Alice FarmerGUEST
Um, so some of the opening observations I would say would be, um, one of the predictions is that a great deal of climate migration will be internal, that is, um, m- people moving within their own country.

Alice FarmerGUEST
Um, and so that I think is a good reminder to keep when we are scared about the borders of the United States or the borders of the European Union.

Alice FarmerGUEST
Yes, there will be pressures on those borders, but some significant portion of the climate displacement will be, um, within people's own country and will in many cases be really, um, over relatively short distances.

Alice FarmerGUEST
A second theory that, that plays into us understanding these numbers is we don't un- know yet what kinds of adaptation people will be able to do or what kind of adaptive technologies will help us, um, with Thinking about our new worlds, right? So, um, many more of us live in Arizona than would before the invention of air conditioning, right? So what are the types of adaptive technologies that will enable us to live in certain places that are becoming more and more climate hostile? Um, and those kinds of adaptive technologies can be, uh, could range from the simple to the very complex.
