What was your reaction back in 2025?
1:48
It goes back a little bit further than that, right? If you look at what the platform that most of us ran on, it was to slow down growth.
1:55
So what you saw from, I would say approximately year 2000 or so, and then for the next two decades, it was a period of very, you know, it was rampant growth.
2:04
And especially leading up into that 2008 when things slowed down a little bit for a short period of time, we saw unbelievable growth during that period of time.
2:14
But then we're also a victim of our own success.
2:18
Nobody wants to go into a bad area to live in, right? What's our success? Great schools, great public safety, excellent parks, right? It's become a good destination, and everybody in metro Atlanta knows it.
2:33
So then we got stuck with figuring out, okay, how do we manage that growth? Now, keep in mind that you go back 25, 30 years ago, there wasn't much growth before 30 years ago.

So what happens next? What are the next goals that need to be achieved? And what can residents expect once the moratorium is lifted?
4:28
Yeah.
4:28
Right? Because there was so much uncertainty.
4:29
We were heading into a war.
4:31
And to see the country recover from that, but then about 20 years later, we ended up with COVID, and that also caused a lot of, uh, issues and concerns.
4:41
In Forsyth County, though, Forsyth County was very resilient.
4:44
The businesses succeeded and some even thrived because the community came out in droves to support the small businesses.
4:52
Um, not in traditional ways, but in non-traditional ways.

If you build it, they will come.
