You could say if these communities, you know, if they were only exposed to El Niño and then they would have these extreme events, but then they would have four or five years again to recover, regain their livelihoods and potentially be able to better cope with a future El Niño.

Of course, the fact is that this is happening at the same time as climate change, which means that we are seeing an increase in the severity and frequency of extreme events.
