Firstly, is that right? And secondly, isn't there already a pipeline going up to the Northern Territory?
1:40
So there is existing pipeline connectivity, but we're going to need a much bigger pipeline, and AGRG is proposing to build a 750-kilometre pipeline up to Darwin, which would be much bigger.
1:56
What's Beetaloo's actual role in this thing? And by the way, how much gas would a project like that swallow up?
2:01
So data centres use massive amounts of power, and this is about creating a local market for our gas.
2:08
At a gigawatt of scale data centre, it would need potentially up to 200 terajoules a day, which is hundreds of millions of dollars a year worth of revenue to us.
2:17
And that's really the core focus for us in this place.
8:06
So how does it perform?
8:08
Yeah, sure.
8:09
So, yeah, I can't talk about gas price, but a pretty good rule of thumb that is utilised by equity analysts in Australia and so on, which, you know, some of which can be found on our website, is that an XPL price of somewhere in the order of 10 to 12 Australian dollars a gigajoule is a pretty good estimate of where the sale price would lie.
8:29
Now, Netherland Soil and Associates, who are one of the really gold standard independent resource assessors for petroleum projects globally, but particularly in Australia, have given us an estimate that there's about 10 petajoules of recoverable gas per well.
8:49
Now, it's a very rough rule of thumb, but if you use $10 a gigajoule, that means about $100 million of gross revenue from any given well.
8:59
Now, what that means in the pilot phase is that we expect to generate modest returns over the life cycle of a well, but still MPV positive.
9:12
Now, part of the reason for that is that the cost of drilling one well at a time is extremely high.

15:29
What's that for? Yeah, so a
2:40
Now, tell me, what would a project like this mean for the Territory in terms of jobs, investment and making use of gas from the Beedaloo Basin? I guess I'm probably most interested, though, in what it could mean jobs-wise.
2:55
Absolutely.
2:56
This is a huge opportunity for the Northern Territory, both in Darwin and surrounds, but also in the regions.
3:03
I was just...
3:04
About a week and a half ago, I was out in a project called Stargate in West Texas...
3:09
That was an incredible site to see.
3:11
They're installing eight gigawatts of generation for a massive data center there.
4:04
alex since you were out with the government a couple of weeks ago and uh and you know spoke about uh spoke about this project what kind of interest have you received
1:39
This is an interesting one because I know that there's some work going on behind the scenes on that one.
1:43
Yeah, that's right.
1:44
So the development of shale gas resources requires large volumes of sand.
1:49
And until now, it's been a very expensive cost impost, bringing it from the other side of Australia, which is literally thousands of miles.
1:57
We have been looking to follow the process that's been used in the US shale industry to develop in-basin sand and we were very pleased to support a company called Territory Sands that has an in-basin sand deposit.
2:10
We've entered into an agreement with them to fund that.
2:13
They've started drawing down under that facility and they'll be in a position to deliver us sand for future programs
3:13
Where's the company at as far as that's concerned?
3:48
I mean, you know, what are these data centres going to do for us here in the Territory?
3:53
Yeah, sure.
3:54
So, you know, I was a bit sceptical about data centres initially as well, but we've done a hell of a lot of work to get our heads around it.
4:01
And, you know, as I said, you know, this really is the next industrial revolution.
4:05
The demand for data is growing exponentially around the world, whether that's businesses or even in our own lives.
4:12
You know, I, for one, I'm using AI all day and it's...
4:15
It's dramatically improved my productivity at work.

7 MINS LATER

11:16
But in terms of, you know, for you, for Beetaloo Energy and also, you know, the other subsidiaries, what do you think we're going to see over the next few years in terms of our population here in the Northern Territory and the potential for, you know, for investment in the NT?
