I think the thing worth picking up there is that, I mean, it's purely symbolic, right? Like the way populists talk about the university and the academy today is so detached from the reality of being at a university.

and academy today and i think one of the things i wanted to pick up on when it comes to thinking of populism as politics nowadays is that it does canvas the left and the right i think the most successful leaders on the left nowadays are ones who are able to really destabilize the control that the right have had the far right have had over this idea of the people like i'm thinking of the zoran mandanis i'm thinking of the success in hungary of being able to really undermine victor robin because the problem now is that they've been in power long enough that the whole anti-elite I'm one of you schtick isn't really cutting it anymore.
