So which architectural shift do you see, do you believe will have the greatest impact over the next year? And what role we can play in enabling this one?

Alex LidowGUEST
So with the 800-volt bus, which everybody is talking about, we've really split the function of power delivery into two different physical locations.

Alex LidowGUEST
The sidecar will be taking AC offline, off the line voltage, and then we'll be converting it through a solid-state transformer to an 800-volt DC bus, which will then go on rails to the various server racks.

Alex LidowGUEST
So the next architecture is, how do you get from 800-volt DC to 0.5-volt GPU? Various opinions and various things are evolving.

Alex LidowGUEST
One thing that I think is clear is that the 800-volt primary side is going to be done in a multistage ISOP topology.

So what would be, what design also, what design philosophy should they adopt to fully exploit the capabilities of GAN, of modern GAN devices and advanced passive technologies?

In 1999, Japanese researchers figured out how to grow gallium nitride as a thin layer on top of silicon.

Alex LidowGUEST
And that I learned about in the early aughts and that switched on a light bulb because it told me that you can overcome the cost problem of a compound semiconductor.

Alex LidowGUEST
And, you know, just to bring out what that cost problem is, you know, the silicon is very cheap.

Alex LidowGUEST
And it's actually very cheap because, well, it's heavily tooled, right? There's a lot of capital investment, but fundamentally it's cheap because the bond between silicon atoms isn't very strong.

Alex LidowGUEST
Okay? So you don't have to put a lot of energy into the system to create the crystal.
