What are some of the things a clinician should be looking out for? Maybe some of the subtle ways that it disguises itself that a clinician might miss or might misdiagnose.

Alex IantaffiGUEST
You know, when we talk about gender, even when I do trainings, I often say we are not talking about gender and/or sexuality in kind of a neutral container, right? There's already a historical context, a cultural context, a social context, and all of that.

Alex IantaffiGUEST
And especially when it comes to gender and sexuality, more often than not, we have been shaped by colonial thinking, in particular in, um- So-called North America and, uh, and in other places too, of course.

Alex IantaffiGUEST
But a lot of the ways we think about gender as kind of a rigid binary and as kind of being laid on top of biological realities in air quote is actually very much of a colonial construct and a kind of a, which is also bound into Christian supremacy.

Alex IantaffiGUEST
But that could be a whole big conversation, um, you know, that we don't need to necessarily go into.
