And then, uh, the thing is, it's like these people that like to arch their backs, um- The best way for them to integrate legs into their squat is the heel.
24:27
'Cause the people that really like to arch their backs, whenever you put them in flats and they tip over, they die or they become all spinal.
24:34
But if you put them in a heel, lots of times they're able to still keep their arch, stay somewhat upright, which is what they like, but integrate the legs into it, which I like.
24:45
The, the other thing is some people just have such limited space, where even getting, like, two or three more degrees of knee travel, or even just, like, a h- hair more pronation from a good heel and being able to internally rotate allows you to hit depth.
25:00
That's why it can let you hit depth.
25:02
But also, too, if it gives you too much knee travel, again, it can prevent depth, which is funny.

It's still 100%.
EricHOST
15:18
It's still jumping but it's not as aggressive.
15:21
And I think looking back on the day, the bench is probably the one where it's like I'm very frustrated that we missed the opener on something dumb like upper body for us because definitely had 130 in the tank and I think that would have definitely made the difference in that battle.
15:34
But hindsight's 20-20, what can you do? Like, I'm glad I called it how I did because if not, we were gonna lose for sure, like, There's no other way.
15:44
Deadlift, that's the one where I think I'll take a little bit of the blame but at the same time it's like, it's like there's a lot of factors that go into deadlift for sure, it's like, for example, he opened his training for deadlift was absolutely phenomenal, like, he pulled 308 or 308.5 in training, it was super fast so we were pretty confident that he had the world record because usually his deadlift shows up a little bit better but funny enough, I think, like, when you're that small and you cut that much weight, there's so- all the little things that normally don't affect the lift can really affect lift a lot then because it's like, if you just feel like a little bit differently, like you can miss the lift entirely.
16:22
Cause it's like, he had to go really deep on squats.
16:25
And this matters because I think sometimes everybody like has one side that gets taxed more than the other side.
16:31
Right.

9 MINS LATER

But she got her third back because of that
59:52
Cause I think for me, like there's a certain level of seeing where the body puts you to be strongest, but then also correcting obviously certain elements as well.
60:01
No, I 100% agree, right? Like, I think you have to have a little of both.
60:05
But I think with beginners, especially, I'd rather teach them...
60:09
I'd rather be stricter with the technique I'm teaching someone at the start and, like, what muscles we're building.
60:14
A lot of the times, technique is also a result of, like, what muscles you have available to use and what ranges of motion.
60:20
But I think the ranges of motion actually decrease as time goes on.
60:23
So it's like...

12 MINS LATER

72:22
I was like, yes obviously we have the specific movements and we push those and we focus on those like golden micro-esque with those but we also have these other movements in that we just push one for fun because growing out on accessory movements is fun but also to just target certain areas a little bit more efficiently without causing as much fatigue and just having fun building that muscle mass and they were like yeah but do you not think that by doing those compound movements that recruit all of these muscles anyway you're not going to just build that muscle mass through that and I was gonna say I'd be intrigued to get your thoughts on it because I still think yes you can obviously build muscle mass through that but it's also not getting the whole picture
