Um, can you please tell us a little bit how climate change is impacting health in Europe today?

Heat is indeed the biggest killer that is associated with climate change.

We estimate that ninety-five percent of deaths that occur due to extreme weather events are actually due to heat, so it rightly takes the first place in people's minds.

But, uh, like you're saying, climate change affects, uh, health in so many other ways.

And if we think, for example, about the other extreme events, uh, flooding.

Flooding is not only causing deaths and injuries, but also, uh, carries the risk of waterborne diseases.

It also affects mental health, and the mental health is also affected by wildfires.

Uh, Aleksandra, can you tell us a little bit about, uh, the European Observatory on Climate Change and Health? What do you do, and what are the priorities?
