3:34
Mm-hmm.
3:34
And then season four is where you really start to get, like, the great ep- or s- some of the great episodes.
3:40
Um, so, you know, it's, it's like if you can, if you can hold on long enough, I mean, you can just dive in.
3:47
It's very episodic.
3:48
You can dive in in season four and watch it, but, like, you get to know the characters.
3:54
You get to see Riker's facial hair evolve.
3:56
Um, it's, it's fun to, to watch from the beginning, but you kinda have to plow through a little bit in the, in the early episodes, for sure.

32 MINS LATER

36:12
[laughs]
17:11
Aline?
17:13
I am deeply uncomfortable with the way that society has opted into constant ubiquitous surveillance.
17:22
I worry about this because we have seen how technology such as these can be used by both individuals and corporations and also governments to do real harm to people.
17:36
So we've got, I mean, Meta's glasses are called pervert glasses for a reason, because people are doing really gross, disgusting things.
17:44
immoral things with them ring doorbells originally it was like oh yeah this is a great technology I can see who's at the door I can talk to them if I'm not home or if I'm upstairs and I can't get downstairs right away or whatever and this is great and then we're seeing it used to racially profile and perpetuate violence upon people.
18:04
And we've got flock cameras, which, yes, have always been designed to be surveillance technology, but like they're everywhere and nobody was listened to when they stopped to say, OK, how is this going to be used to do harm? And I feel like that's the first responsibility of any person and any product manufacturer is to think about what are the worst case scenarios of this thing.
18:26
And we are not doing it effectively.

5 MINS LATER

23:30
Aline?
8:49
My couch Kindle.
8:50
Uh, my couch Kindle.
8:50
I have a Kindle in my office, so that when I'm in my office and I wanna read on Kindle, I can.
8:57
I am fortunate enough that I can knit and eyeball read at the same time, so I often use the Kindle app next to GoodNotes.
9:05
So I use GoodNotes for knitting patterns and the Kindle app to read, um, while I'm on the couch or, um, [laughs] in the car.
9:15
I have, um...
9:16
I, I am usually passenger p- princess.

17 MINS LATER

26:16
Yeah
8:33
On that, let's move to our next topic, which comes from Aileen.
8:36
That got very dramatic.
8:37
Um, sometime last year, I'm, I'm spitting mad about this, Backblaze stopped backing up cloud-synced folders.
8:45
Um, on Mac, the release, uh, was 9.2.2.878. As far as I can tell, this was for Mac, um, released on August 31st of last year.
8:58
I've done my investigative journalism.
8:59
I mean, that, that's the extent of it.
9:01
Um, they don't date their release notes.

14 MINS LATER

23:04
Uh, what about you, Aline?
13:53
(laughs)
13:53
... um, because I don't really.
13:56
Uh, but when I do, when I have in the past, uh, I typically just u- pull up a recipe on my phone and use it.
14:04
At one point, I had aspirations of like getting a cabinet mount into which I could put my iPad and, you know, set the screen to not sleep while I was using it.
14:17
That never actually came to pass because the stand or th- the thing we got had to screw into the cabinet, and I didn't want to do that, and like it was a whole thing.
14:25
Um, but yeah, I just, I use my phone or, and this is really weird for me, but I will print out a recipe on paper so I can annotate it really easily.
14:36
Um, but yeah, I, um, I don't cook much.

10 MINS LATER

24:51
(laughs)
