That's an interesting thesis because if you look at it that way, it's almost like Kristoff set up this world to dare Truman to try to escape, to dare Truman to try to be unfaithful to his wife or to follow the adventure or a book of flight, right? To travel or whatever.

And they're constantly pushing him to conform, right? I grew up in the church, Southern Baptist Church in particular.

So for me, I kept comparing it to that, where the church is telling you, this is what's okay, this is what's not okay.

And even though my family grew up in a world where everybody that I knew pretty much believed the same way, we still had questions, right? We still had questions in Sunday school.

We had questions about the Bible and we had questions maybe our own desires right that came up against that for me as a gay man I definitely was like attracted to boys but there was no one I could safely discuss that with least of all the boy I was attracted to that's terrifying anyway just as a you know pubescent teenager and I do wonder how much of that is like Also, in the design, you know, Ed Harris as Kristoff is clearly some kind of genius, often in the situations where the rest of the production doesn't know what to do.
