So how does coaching, marriage coaching, how does it work? And how is it different from counseling or mentoring?
32:09
Well, there are some very specific differences.
32:13
In coaching, the coaches view the couple as the expert on their relationship.
32:19
Now, it may be a dysfunctional relationship, but they know when she sighs or she does whatever, what that means, whereas the coaches may not.
32:29
So the couple's the expert on their relationship, and as such, they're the only ones that can fix it.
32:34
the coach is the the expert on the process the process of coaching of asking questions of sharing observations of reflecting back what they're hearing all of those good coaching skills which are also good counseling skills so the coaches are a master of that But the key to coaching is the job description of the coach is to help the couple create new agreements and relapses so that they can move forward together to replace that old playbook with something that's gonna work for them because they've become aware of the dynamics that are going on and they really want to change.
33:15
Now, change is a hard thing.

And just over and over again, I mean, all of these couples go through my mind.
