How much of a difference would that actually make to get them involved in that as well?

Alan HalalyGUEST
Boulder City is a small town, but the more customers that can be tapped into the system that takes every drop of water that we use indoors and puts it back into Lake Mead, that's, I think, a plus.

Alan HalalyGUEST
And that's certainly being reflected as the water managers across the West kind of argue about the water that we have available to us.

Alan HalalyGUEST
I think there's been a general maybe I don't know, disillusionment among folks in the basin, just that these folks that are in these rooms talking and arguing, you know, state to state, aren't really looking toward those solutions.
Jesse MerrickHOST
But that's obviously in discussions in Southern California, right? Can you explain to us a bit about what desalination actually is and how that would maybe impact us if they do get that rolling in Southern California?

two three years the seven states can't agree there's the upper basin and the lower basin right um and basically what happens then is the federal government gets to decide for them and uh there's a lot of worry about that because that could lead to a lawsuit that uh delays any progress being made at all while we're in this huge drought um so as soon as monday we could be seeing what they call the federal or the final environmental impact statement which we're is going to give us an indication of where the federal government is leaning on this.

Alan HalalyGUEST
And it could mean some pretty significant cuts for us here in Southern Nevada in addition to California and Arizona.

Harvey BlankfeldHOST
And so tell me some details about this desalinization agreement we have with Southern California.
