Uh, and there's, at UNT, you have the opportunity to look at a musician and say, "Man, this person is gonna be going places." How does that make you feel when you're sitting in, in the lab, One O'Clock, uh, practices, actually it's a class, it's not a practice, uh, how do you scope out, who do you wanna spay, pa- spend special attention with, uh, as part of your, uh, your band?
9:46
Yeah, those, that's a great question also.

For me, um, a lot of time in rehearsal I'm trying to build up the folks that have less experience.
9:57
Um, of course, the folks that are, maybe they're grad students or they're a senior and they've been practicing for four years, and their trajectory is, it's not set, but it's in a very good, uh, direction.

But there are, like the younger p- people in the band who feel overwhelmed or they have imposter syndrome, I really wanna, not necessarily only in rehearsal, but outside of rehearsal also, I wanna build them up.
10:21
I wanna give them, help them with their confidence, um, so they can rise to that occasion.
10:28
Uh, 'cause it, it's a tough space, um, because when you get to the One O'Clock, you've already paid a lot of dues, you've already practiced, and if your fellow band mates aren't putting in that same effort, you know, it, it can get, um...

What does the future look like for UNT and other, uh, music universities?
