You were talking about the mind-muscle connection, which I don't know if everybody will know exactly what that is just by hearing it, so maybe give a little descriptor about that, but then what do we know about that in terms of really making more strength or functional gains in the gym?

Alan BaconGUEST
The idea is that if you have an internal locus of control or, or you focus internally on contracting a muscle, it contracts that muscle more fully and builds the muscle more readily.

Alan BaconGUEST
That's in opposition to an external locus of control where you're focusing on lifting the weights.

Alan BaconGUEST
And so there's, there's always been this debate, um, among practitioners like, "Okay, well, if we're trying to build the most lean muscle possible, do we want an internal locus of control? Do we wanna focus on contracting the muscle?" Versus if we wanna lift the most weight, do we focus on lifting the weight and less on contracting the muscle, let your body guide itself through whatever contraction it needs to do to lift the weight? And so you'll see people like powerlifters or Olympic weightlifters always using an external locus of control versus a physique athlete that would be using the internal locus of control.
