I spent a lot of time working on a major in coaching that took into account the body, you know, anatomy and physiology, kinesiology, all that kind of stuff, nutrition.

Um, and then the skill portion of teaching the skills, but also, uh, things in ethics, communication, you know, listening skills, uh, you know, dealing with parents today, um, having some insight.

And, and the reason I think it's so important is, and, and many people agree, we would never send a teacher into a classroom without some sort of training before they get there, and it happens all the time with coaches.

And all they really know, whether they end up being a great coach, a bad coach, or in the middle, is what they've experienced, and they start from that standpoint of, "This is how it was done when I played." And sometimes that's good and sometimes it's not.

And, you know, people will go to clinics and, you know, learn and all of that, but I, I think there's a foundation that's really critical to be a successful leader, and a coach is a leader, coach is a teach- teacher.
