What was that like? Like going from Bangarra, doing a performing arts and then going to university? Yeah.

Yeah, well, I think before Newtown, I was at an all-girls Catholic private school in the Southwest.

What was that like? That was crazy.

I think I learned a lot from that place in terms of maybe a similar feeling to how I was feeling at university as well.

Like what... discourse was dominant and how you know history is told from what lens and I was just so angry and first of all I was angry that I couldn't do dance drama or art because they weren't running those things for senior years and all I wanted to do was dance and um Also, I remember being in year nine and the teacher, you know, for history thought it would be okay to put rabbit-proof vents on and, you know, come up to me and say, oh, you know, you're Aboriginal, you would have been taken, you know? How is that meant to make a 15-year-old feel as well, you know? And I was just like, oh, no one gets this, no one understands.

I want to be with people and surround with people that... um, listen and care.

And um, so I decided to go to another school and I auditioned for um, Newtown Performing Arts.
