What are you hearing from young people? Why are they not enrolling to vote?
5:30
There's a range of reasons, and I think being on the road for the last couple of months has really shown us, through having conversations with young people, that it goes from the lack of access or, I guess, knowledge of knowing how to enrol.
5:44
A lot of 18-year-olds don't even realise that it's not an automatic thing that happens when you turn 18.
5:49
So there's that kind of barrier there, alongside...
5:53
The fact that this age bracket is very mobile, so when it comes to updating details as well, you often have young people who are moving flats, moving accommodation, moving in and out of halls.
6:03
That struggle was kind of knowing how to navigate the system in that way.
6:08
But I think the major reason that we're seeing is that a lot of young people aren't seeing the political parties or the policies coming forward reflect their reality of life or reflect what they have in terms of aspirations for the future.
10:54
Is that also a concern?

Adriana, apart from the work that you and your fellow volunteers are doing, what else do we need to do to reach out to this demographic to get them enrolled?
7:20
I think it's just meeting young people where they are.
7:22
A lot of the institutions that we have these days are just not set up in a way that young people want to engage in them, and a whole point of our campaign has been kind of meeting young people where they are, both online and in person.

I think it's just meeting young people where they are.
13:07
But how does it feel when you guys cop it by being lazy or not interested, stuff like that?
13:15
Yeah, I mean, as a fellow Gen Zer, I've definitely, you know, cocked that kind of laziness, I guess, label.
13:21
But I think we understand each other and we understand that we're not lazy and that this is about us feeling like we haven't been heard.
13:31
And it's easy to kind of switch off when you feel like there's no point in your voice, in sharing your voice, because who's going to listen to you? And that's why we wanted this campaign to kind of speak to young people and be a lot be a lot focused on that sense of, I guess, collectivism and really focus on the numbers because 188,000 people is really hard to ignore.
13:54
And so if all of us enrolled and voted, then imagine what our future would look like.
14:00
Imagine if we all turned out and we completely change the future of this country and we'd be able to have a massive voice in the decisions that kind of take us forward.
14:11
So as a young person, I'm interested, what scares you the most about how the future is looking for you at the moment?
14:19
I mean, as a young person, there's a lot that scares me.
