And they've only got five more boxes to tick.
7:50
That's right.
7:52
So maybe I'll just run through those seven points quickly.
7:57
So the first one was to reclassify personal care as a clinical service so that people didn't have to make a personal contribution.
8:05
The government has agreed to that.
8:06
It's going to start on the 1st of October.
8:10
My second suggestion hasn't been agreed to, which is to allow 25% carry forward between the quarters.

So I love the simplicity of block funded, but I think that the block funding needs to be separated across more organisations or be done in a way that is more consumer directed or referral through GPs.
10:07
Yes.
10:07
And then you leave it between the individual and their provider to work out where, where they want the, the emphasis to be in their services, and you can respond immediately to those changing needs rather than wait potentially months for a reassessment.
10:22
I suggested also that they reclassify sho- shopping, and particularly accompanied shopping, as a social service, so it brings down the potential cost from 80% to 50% for the self-funded retirees, um, [clears throat] because actually shopping is essentially a social activity.
10:42
It gets you out of the house, seeing other people, mixing in the world.
10:47
Um, for some people, it's the only time they go out in the fortnight, and 80% of the cost is too high.
10:54
Uh, again, unsuccessful.
10:57
The next one I'm feeling a bit better about because it's the end-of-life, uh, funding, and this was a, a good initiative basically to allow up to 16 weeks of extra funding for palliative care or actually end-of-life care.

This isn't a new thing, is it? In terms of the ce-cessation of CHSP has been discussed for at least a decade.
