people might think, oh, oh, what are some other hallmarks for women that are different than men?
8:31
In ADHD, the difference in women.
8:34
Yeah, I mean, this is something that I find so fascinating.
8:36
I mean, my degree was in sociology and criminology.
8:39
So I love the social aspect around how this manifests differently in girls quite a lot of the time, because coming back again to this gender bias that we know exists across all medicine.
8:51
and lifestyle studies but actually it's really stark in the ADHD world because so much of what we know to be true around ADHD diagnosis assessment treatment is based on naughty little white boys that was largely what was researched so the female experience was really significantly just not including the conversation and certainly not around our hormones so one of the things that we have is that Little boys get the privilege of, oh, they're just being little boys if they don't behave in a certain way.
9:19
Little girls don't tend to have that.

Educate us.

Amazing.
0:59
Well, thank you for having me.
1:01
I work at the intersection.
1:03
I work with all women, but my niche specialism, I suppose, is that intersection of hormones during perimenopause, for ADHD women and the impact that has on traits and nervous system and what you can do about it.
1:19
So I'm going to be sharing a lot of information.
1:21
One of my ADHD traits is I speak at a thousand miles an hour.

4:02
Yeah.
4:07
So as always, please listen with curiosity and self-compassion, take what resonates, and always, always seek personalized medical support where needed.
4:16
There is so much that I wanna talk to you about.
4:19
I could just fill a whole week talking about hormones.
4:21
So I run an online clinic where I work with women all around the world.
4:25
I work with all women who are neurodivergent, whatever their age.
4:28
But I undertook a study last year.
4:30
It's the only study that's been done into perimenopause and ADHD because it's a massively understudied area [laughs] in an understudied massive area around ADHD and women.
