And while I know you're here for writing, I'm wondering if the stage has been calling you at all to do some movement or has it been a good support over your shoulder?

Yeah.

I haven't done anything wily on the stage yet, but I have been looking at it over my shoulder.

I've also been like imagining, well, so the other thing that happened this summer is I finished a play that I'd kind of been sitting on and like pushing off.

And that play is very much about like people aging in the rural Midwest.

The characters are not my parents, but in some ways it's inspired by like moving back home and thinking about the milieu of my parents and the people I grew up with who are all like, kind of like radical lefties who have always lived in the rural midwest and like have blue collar jobs and like are kind of autodidact creatives and at the same time are very midwestern so anyway i have been starting to imagine like what the next step for that play is and trying to plan out doing a reading of it in detroit and i've been one of the things that kind of happens is like I feel like I've been going through my mental rolodex of all the spaces in Detroit trying to figure out like what the right space for it would be.

And there isn't really one that's like striking me.
