And how about the long-term stresses? From my experience, I've seen in meeting with a number of athletes that they struggle with chronic anxiety at times, not even knowing, and the anxiety of not being able to perform or considering each of their runs even easy runs as more like competition runs etc and they build a chronic anxiety over a period of time from your experience have you come across similar instances and if yes what do you think how how people like these how personas like these should look at managing their anxiety because that's a lot more counterproductive i would i would assume

And, and so it's, it's helpful in that sense to think about what kind of anxiety and stress is like our stress response is it's, it's, it's not abstract, right? Like it's something actually happening in our bodies.

Addie BracyGUEST
And yeah, as, as our humanity and our species has progressed, our brains like almost haven't caught up with, with where we're at.

Addie BracyGUEST
And so our stress response, which we know is like fight, flight, or freeze kind of our sympathetic nervous system was not designed to be charged up for long periods of time, right? Like it was designed to show up when there's a threat present so that we can protect ourselves and survive basically.

But the ones who cannot, what do you think are some of the things people should look at from mental training perspective if we have not covered already today?

Yeah.

Addie BracyGUEST
I don't think that the training is it's consistency, I guess, you know, sometimes I, sometimes I do have the thought, like, am I doing enough? You know, like I do balance a job and I don't want to do that.

Addie BracyGUEST
I don't, you know, I want to have other things going on and I also enjoy skiing and mountain biking and I have thoughts sometimes like, do I not care? Because you know, do I not care as much or am I being a bad athlete because I went skiing this morning? So in my opinion, this is not really the answer to your question.

you were just giving the answer you taught something like loving right so i always believe that if you don't love it enough then you will not flourish on it right so has the relationship of you and running has it been the same over the years that because 25 years is a long time
