you enjoy.

If you do not look forward to coming in here and it's only an off day to you and you just don't really care, just leave.

Because that literally is only holding back people, especially if you've got fired up new guys that are extremely motivated.

and they're looking to learn and you've got guys coming in here that just, they don't care about the job.

They've been here forever.

They just, you know, I did that forever ago.

years yeah

But is, how big a role does that play in overall morale? I think it's so much deeper than that.

It's, it's certainly, it's tough.

It's tough because there's, there's a multitude of answers that you could have for that because obviously everybody's motivation is going to be different or everybody's, you know, perception of the morale is going to be different.

But I will say that I think that a big thing that affects morale that we almost have to take an inward look at is perception.

I think a lot of our guys and I shouldn't say our guys, but a lot of firefighters in general in the service, no matter what department they work for.

I think that they tend to look through just a three-inch window.

I've done that before.
