Where is it now in the performance world of instrumental musicians? Is this, if you had a son or daughter and they, and you sent them to say a clarinet teacher and they had a very high level where they could potentially be good enough to make their living as a, concert clarinetist, how would they respond if you talk to them about your knowledge that you have as a CSCS as far as using strength and conditioning principles to improve the performance of your son or daughter as a clarinet player?

I think that's a really interesting question.

You know, part of what the article covers is looking at literature, examining what the attitudes are toward resistance training in particular, but exercise in general.
10:36
And musicians, to be quite frank and a little bit brutal, musicians are very poor at their socialization of exercise as an important background component of playing well, right? who wants to compete, who wants to perform at a high level understands that training is necessary.

The body must be prepared to do the demands of the sport.
11:02
That is just, it's so acculturated.
11:04
That's great.

Is that going to require to really get an individual or a get the norm to become involving strength and conditioning activities is that going to require a paradigm shift where okay we need to practice a little bit less to do the strength and conditioning and that's going to be beneficial for our performance rather than we always run into this in the sports field of oh we need to do strength and conditioning we'll pile that on top of the practice schedule already
