It's about building the conditions in which volunteering can thrive.

Looking at the not-for-profit, what the charitable sector looks like in Canada, a lot of organizations are small.

So they either have one staff or no staff and they're volunteer driven.

So volunteering is an extremely important part of the DNA in the sector.

But as organizations grow, Sometimes people don't invest in that ecosystem of volunteering along with it.

And so these all run volunteer organizations that are doing amazing things and doing the pull up your bootstraps work of nothing all the way to some organizations who get the money and the staff and then forget the power of volunteering that can really help expand their community.

And that word really ties into what I believe in volunteer engagement professional does is they shape the community.
