And so this three has done an amazing work, and I assume the next question is how we did it.And that's, of course, I will give that to the lead author, Abby, uh, to tell us how she, Gilles, and Lucas actually did it.
6:15
Okay.
6:16
Yeah.

So, uh, my co-first author, Lucas, and I started with all known exoplanets and calculated how much energy each planet receives from its host star.
6:25
Uh, we used, uh, stellar data from the Gaia DR3 archive, which is essentially it's taking a survey of different stars in our galaxy and obtaining its parameters such as its size and its temperature.
6:38
Um, we also accounted for how elliptical each planet's orbit was because that can change how much energy that the planet receives over time.
6:45
And so once we had that, we could figure out how much energy, um, each planet was in relationship to the amount of energy that Mars and Jupiter get.

And so that's what Abby and Lucas found.
