So as a bartender, what made you fall in love with it before you got into the class? Was this something you were looking to do? Or what made you just decide, man, I want to go do this and try this out?

Initially, I went to culinary school, actually.

I went to culinary school.

I didn't finish the program.

I joke around and say I was a culinary school dropout.

But being in culinary school was less about learning to cook and more about learning the methods.

I didn't care about recipes because I felt like if I went to go cook in your kitchen versus cooking in your neighbor's kitchen, As long as I knew the method to prepare the food, I can make it.

So when you saw this contest where we put together for the Black Box, what made you say, man, I can do this? And did you ever just think in your mind, man, I can win this thing?
