What are some practices that help people do that in the moment?

Ha- Needing to have the awareness.

Awareness of the ways that you see the world and God not as it is or as he is, but as you are, is so crucial because, again, I'm gonna come back to that quote from Rich Plass, "You can't die to a self you don't know." Um, and I'll just say too, Matthew 16 that says, "Unless you, uh, deny yourself, take up your cross, and follow me, you know, you can't truly be my disciple." I'm paraphrasing.

"What would it profit a man to gain the whole world and yet forfeit his very soul?" Recognizing the subtle agreements we've made with the enemy, um, the subtle lies that we've agreed to, and beginning to lay those down.

So I would say very practically, um, appetite, approval, power, as we know in the Soma family, sometimes the comfort, control, approval, performance, uh, looking at those idols and seeing the ways that we try to create Hugh Cisterns, um, but that it's not just informationally.

It's, it's ways that we've tried to identify and, and do our own work of earning our way back to God.

The more that we can recognize that our false gospel runs deep, it's not just informational, it's experiential, and we can learn to see that, we can lay it down and experience more and more of the Father's love.
