Why is timing so important with nasal and facial injuries? Is there a window during which treatment is easier or more effective before the bones or tissue starts the healing?
8:20
Yes.
8:21
So nasal bone fractures, the general rule of thumb is you wanna get to those, in terms of treatment, within two weeks, because once the bones are fractured, if they're left, if the fracture is not reduced and set properly, a lot of times the bones will fuse in position, and it becomes harder to...
8:39
You have to basically re-break the bone in order to set it properly.
8:42
So you have about a two-week window for a nasal bone fracture.
8:46
If someone gets in an accident on a Wednesday, we try to see them within that first, you know, within that next week, so by the following Wednesday, and usually plan treatment a week, within a week after that.
8:59
So that 10 to, 10 to 14 days is the general rule of thumb.
