D- have you, have you got a spreadsheet of how many live events you've actually done, do you know off the top of your head?
12:30
Uh, I think it's about...
12:33
I, it's only about 10 so far.
12:37
Um, but there, there's a reason for that because, you know, when we, when we first did the first one, uh, there was a lot of like kind of confluence, um, because I was supposed to get involved with the American guys who had done the first Booster Grand Ball like six months previous.
12:57
They were supposed to come over.
12:59
And I, and I've told this story many times, but I just really wanna emphasize the fact that, uh, this wasn't my master plan, mate.
13:07
I've kind of like found myself here a little bit.
17:44
Mm-hmm
2:30
What are the top two things that come to your mind when you think of That wisdom your grandfather gave you riding around in the truck, helping him out and going to those appliance repair,
2:42
whatever.
2:43
The first one that comes to mind is, it sounds so simple, but when you try to live it out, it requires some sacrifice.
2:53
And that is that it takes time to build up trust with people, but you can lose it in an instant.
3:03
Your word is your bond.
3:05
When you say you're going to be there, when you say you're going to do something, you deliver.
3:09
Over time, you can build up that trust, but you can't relax in that.

16 MINS LATER

18:47
So can you tell me a miracle that happened that was like a green light to go enlist?
8:38
why pass the skills on we could say that for all of us why did the people why did people you work for train you you know what i mean what was in it for them because neither of you work for the people you who trained you well i did but i
8:51
think it was so much different back then weren't it you know what i mean certainly when i started hairdressing in 2001 um the competition wasn't as rife then, you know what I mean? You didn't have necessarily as many hairdressers in salons, as many barber shops, you know? So, I mean, for me, my point of view, I was trained in salon.
9:15
I never actually achieved any qualifications.
9:18
I learned on the job, as Adam says, like probably most of that generation did.
9:21
You got took under the wing of a salon and they trained you until they thought you was good enough because those salon standards were a lot higher than the college standards back then.
9:33
So yeah, for me personally, it was all about incentive, wasn't it? Because I was being paid next to nothing to train.
9:40
and i want it as past as and get as good as possible so i could start earning some money the whole minimum wage thing i think completely muddies the waters because sal and i was working at 10 years ago some of the assistants were earning more money than the fully qualified stylists so where's the incentive to kind of move on in that structure so i think over the last decade It's been so, so difficult.
