Today, I want to share a vulnerable story about the dangers of self-help for ADHDers.
0:56
My name is Aaron Croft, and I'm a former Fortune 500 consultant.
1:01
I run a six-figure ADHD coaching business, and I'm a Harvard graduate.
1:07
But what you don't know about me is that just over 10 years ago, I was broke, divorced, and earning minimum wage.
1:15
I was living in a house with four housemates where I rented one half of a king-size bed because that was all I could afford at age 33.
1:27
And that's not even the embarrassing part.
9:21
... with our audience, with yourself and ADHD, what is your story of diagnosis? Was it quite young? Was it in adulthood? What does it look like for you? 'Cause everyone's journey is so different, right?
9:31
Yeah.
9:32
Um, well, it's, uh, it's a little embarrassing and a little, uh, I don't know, a little, a little vulnerable.
9:39
But, um, so I mentioned being broke, divorced, and earning minimum wage, uh, at 33.
9:49
And so, um, I didn't know I had ADHD at this point, and so I set out to try to figure out how to follow through.
9:57
And, you know, just the f- just the sheer pain of [laughs] being divorced and out of money, um, I remember, like, it really hit me.
10:09
So, like, that, that was motivating to, like, a visceral thing of just like, "I need to make this work," so I, like, hustled and I did all these things, right? 'Cause last-minute panic, adrenaline, like, we can do these things.
