So what? What exactly has that $100 million got us so far? And I guess maybe we'll be going into what these recent changes, but yes, what has it gotten us so far? What has been built?
8:55
So, so far, so construction, the first year of construction was 2024.
9:00
In that year, admin completed 3.9 kilometers of entirely shared pathways.
9:04
So when we hear a hundred million dollars for bike lanes, the coalition generally doesn't consider active pathways to be bike lanes.
9:13
They can be used by bikes, but from a safety standpoint, they're definitely not preferable to proper on street protected infrastructure, AKA what most people would consider a bike lane, uh, Going into the program, Edmonton had 38 kilometers of bike lane.
9:26
As of where we're at right now, we're at 42.
9:29
So we've spent something like $80 million and we've so far added five kilometers of protected on-street bike lane.

But to your point, I absolutely want to get a clear understanding of what administration is intending to bring forward and how we can close any of those gaps to ensure that we're continuing momentum on this work.
