Mark BudzinskiGUEST
Yeah, I think University of Richmond was, you know, really, really helped me grow up.
Mark BudzinskiGUEST
I was a very shy, kind of quiet kid, and that brought me out of my shell a little bit.
Mark BudzinskiGUEST
Learning how to talk to both, you know, people you've never met in your life from different parts of the country, as well as parents, interaction with parents I would visit, you know, on weekends or for games and things like that, and just have conversations and and learn to, you know, tough days.
Mark BudzinskiGUEST
You, when you're over four or three strikeouts to still be able to go have conversations with, with teammates and parents and fans, as well as the good days, you know, to, to learn to be a little bit more even keel to learn what it takes every day in and out to, to, you know, to go to classes, to, to pass classes, to, at a, at a, at a pretty difficult university, you know, to, to, be able to schedule your days to go to practice to go to weight lifts it lifts at six o'clock in the morning on you know on during the days where you have an a15 class to to have pull tarps and do tarp duty in the morning and run to class and you'll still go compete and and do well in school and get your degree and so Those are the things you take and you learn as you get into minor league ball.

And I, and, and I'm just interested, when a guy has a game like that, uh, you, how do you, as the outfield coach, and as one of the defensive coaches, how do you address it? When do you address it? And do you have to do it differently to a younger guy than, let's say, an older guy who may have just, you know, may have just had one of those nights?
Mark BudzinskiGUEST
And you also gotta know each, each person's, each player's personality and how they react to things, how they like to be, uh, confronted or, or discuss, have a discussion.
Mark BudzinskiGUEST
Um, obviously, like you said, being a younger guy, he's very open to thoughts, ideas, and, and first thing I told him today was, "We've all been there.
Mark BudzinskiGUEST
I've done it." [laughs] Everybody that's played this game has had, has had a rough night, whether it be in the field, in the box, or on the bases.

... uh, before he got traded to the Rays, so he was part of the Cleveland organization.
Mark BudzinskiGUEST
Obviously, didn't have a lot of time with him, but, but it was cool to kinda at least meet him at that point, and now have him back with us on the Blue Jays the last few years in the organization.
