All-In Tone Versus Business Podcasts

All-In leans slightly negative, looks ahead more than most shows, and sounds fairly sure of itself. Its tone falls between two groups. It's more critical and sure-sounding than investor and markets shows like 20VC, Odd Lots and Acquired. It's milder than Scott Galloway's shows (Pivot, Prof G). And it's far less upbeat than the entrepreneurship and self-improvement shows that make up much of the "business" category.

What stands out
- More critical than the other investor shows. All-In's 12% negative is well above 20VC (9%), Odd Lots (8%), Acquired (6%) and its closest format match, BG2 (3%). Only the Galloway shows are more negative, with Pivot the most at 19%.
- Among the surest-sounding. 4% confident ties Prof G for the highest among these peers, and All-In hedges less than 20VC, Odd Lots or BG2. Odd Lots is the opposite: almost a quarter of its lines are hedged.
- Among the most forward-looking. At 10%, All-In ties Pivot, trails only BG2 (11%), and is about twice Acquired (5%). Acquired is mostly about the past (40% of lines), which fits a show built on company histories.
- Concrete, but not the most concrete. All-In is about as specific as Pivot and Prof G, but well behind Acquired's 35%.
- The biggest gap is with the entrepreneurship shows. They run 16–24% positive and use much more vague, motivational language, often 20–27% vague lines. All-In's 9% positive is about half their rate.
One caveat: these figures cover every line spoken on each show, hosts and guests together. All-In's numbers mostly reflect the four hosts.
