How can the most well known paradox of Zen Buddhism, the Mu koan, be understood through a Tantric Buddhist lens?
In this talk Sensei Kanko (Dr. Kritee) brings Joshu's "Mu" into conversation with an older Indian framework: the pancha kosha, five concentric sheaths running from the gross body to constant bliss. What do we miss when we treat Mu as a single doorway rather than one gate inside a layered inner architecture? This talk also offers an authentically humble account of the Zen priest’s learning journey to Tantric Buddhism.
Sensei Kanko gave this talk in October 2026 retreat.
